Dissolve the manufacturer's recommended grams per litre (LB broth 25 g/L, nutrient agar 28 g/L, etc.), adding agar at 1.5% (15 g/L) for solid plates if the powder does not already contain it. A standard 90 mm Petri dish takes about 20–25 mL.
