College Workload (Hours per Week)
Estimate weekly study and class hours from your credit load using the 2-hours-per-credit guideline, free online.
About this calculator
A common rule is 2–3 hours of out-of-class work per credit hour per week, on top of the class time itself. A 15-credit semester therefore means 15 hours in class plus 30–45 hours of study — a 45–60 hour week. Add a job to see if your schedule is realistic.
