About this calculator
For diagonal D and aspect ratio a:b, width = D·a ÷ √(a²+b²) and height = D·b ÷ √(a²+b²). A comfortable viewing distance is about 1.5–2× the diagonal for a desktop monitor; for TVs, THX recommends distance ≈ diagonal × 1.2 (for 4K, at which the pixels are no longer visible).
