Volume = area × average depth: rectangle L×W, round π(D/2)², oval 0.8927 × L × W. Liquid chlorine (12.5% sodium hypochlorite) needed to raise free chlorine by x ppm = x × pool gallons ÷ (10,000 × strength%) gallons. Keep free chlorine at 1–3 ppm and pH 7.2–7.6.
